Pre-College Program at KFUPM


The Pre-College Program allows you to select from a wide range of KFUPM courses and to be enrolled in sections alongside KFUPM students, in one section and one experience!. This program will prepare you for success in college and beyond, also it will challenge you academically and help you develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in a rigorous university environment. Adapting to the academic environment of a university is not only crucial for academic achievement but also for personal development, career readiness, and overall well-being. High-school students who proactively prepare themselves for the challenges and opportunities that higher education offers are more likely to thrive in this new academic setting. The Pre-College program is an educational initiative crafted to assist students in transitioning from high school or secondary education to university or college.

  • Unique opportunity to try college level courses at the top university in the region
  • Courses taken in the pre-college program can be used for university credits when joining KFUPM.

Eligibility and Required Documents


  • High school students in Grades 11 and 12
  • English Language Proficiency minimum scores:
    IETLS TOEFL (IBT) STEP Duolingo
    6 (5.5 minimum in each section) 70 83 105
  • High-School Transcript: The student must have a minimum grade in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics in all prior high-school grades or equivalents as shown in the following:
    Education System Minimum in Math | Chem |Phys
    Public 99%
    International (US) Cumulative GPA of 3.9
    International (UK) A in each module
  • Personal Statement: It is a written document that accompanies your application for admission to the Pre-College Program. It provides additional information about yourself, your background, experiences, goals, and why you are suitable for the program.
  • A permission letter from the student's high school administrator allowing to attend morning classes.

Students can choose only one of the following courses:
MATH 101: Calculus I (Course File)
MATH 105: Finite Mathematics (Course File)
PHYS 101: General Physics I (Course File)
ICS 104: Introduction to Programming Using Python and C (Course File)
GEOL 102: Principles of Geology (Course File)
ECON 101: Principles of Microeconomics (Course File)
CHEM 101: Principles of Chemical Science I (Course File)
BUS 200: Business & Entrepreneurship (Course File)
ACCT 110: Introduction to Financial Accounting (Course File)

Tuition Fees


The fees are SR 2000 for each course, which is refundable if the student fulfills the course requirement at the end of the semester.


Application Deadline


Applications for next semester 242 ( January 12, 2025 - May 28, 2025) open for eligible high school students from December 8, 2024, to December 21, 2024.
